Reasons to be cheerful part ‘21

I’ve wondered what I’d write as the year (2021) has rushed by, and was conscious of the quiet space that has been my blog.

Inspiration for this reflection title came via Ian Dury and the Blockheads, whom I was lucky enough to see when still Kilburn and the High Roads.

Family and friends remain - though loss has been experienced

Living in a well built house - no flooding or tornado has disrupted

Being warm - not on a cold street

Having food - without using a food bank

Accessing a healthcare system that keeps safe, vaccinated and supported - not having to worry about the cost of medicines

The ability to travel, albeit modestly - avoiding isolation

Continuing employment - not furloughed nor at risk

Uncertainty remains, yet so do hope, optimism, and dreams.

So, be cheerful, be thankful, and be ready to face 2022.
